Stitching!

Here are my works in progress! The lioness is almost finished but I need to get some more thread for it. I got the wolf from Parsley and as you can see I haven't gotten very far on it yet. I've been too obsessed with knitting and crochetting! lol! But seeing everyone elses stitching is really making me want to do more!

Secret Santa

So today a couple of friends and I went and did Secret Santa. We went to a fast food restaurant and got a gift certificate and then went to walmart and picked out some things to put in a gift bag. We decided to go with kid stuff so we got an assortment of playdough, glowsticks, games, puzzles, and hats and gloves. Then we started driving around in some of the neighborhoods that looked like they could use some Christmas cheer. We prayed and asked God to show us where our gift would be most needed. Well, my friends both have or still do work at the local skating rink and one of them recognized the car of someone who hangs out at the rink all the time. So we decided that this was the house! We got turned around and pulled up a little past the house. I got out and snuck up to the porch and set the bag down on the mat. I knocked on the door and then turned around and ran for the car! I jumped in and closed the door and turned back to see a woman looking through the glass screen door holding a little kid in her arms. I'm sure that that was where God wanted us to leave that gift. I just pray that we were able to show His love through that small gift this Christmas season. We are planning on doing this again everyday this week. I'll let you all know what happens!

How Many Kings

I wanted to share this song with you all. I just think it is so beautiful. And it is such a good reminder of God's love for us. It has a message that it would pay to remember even outside of the Christmas season. But it really reminds me of the reason for the season. Enjoy!! :)

Top 12 Things about me

Here are a few things you should know about me:
1. Guinevere is not my real name, she is the main character in the book that I am writing.
2. My faith in Christ is the number one thing that defines who I am. (this will also be the basis for a lot of my posts)
3. I feel that God has called me to be a missionary; I don't know where yet but I'm sure He'll let me know when the time is right.
4. I want to be a vet someday, I think I will probably do large and small animals but my dream is to be the vet at a zoo.
5. I have way too many pets: 1 cat, 2 dogs, 11 goats, and the occasional fish. They are all like my children. (again, lots of posts! :)
6. I was homeschooled my whole life.
7. I am a college freshman majoring in chemistry. My dad also teaches chemistry and my older sister is working on her PhD in chemistry (notice a trend here?)
8. I play the piano and I love to sing (neither very well, I should add)
9. I'm not very athletic but I played volleyball in highschool.
10. I love to knit, crochet, cross-stitch, sew, paint, and the list goes on!
11. I am learning Sign Language and would love to be a part of Deaf ministry somehow.
12. My favorites: color - purple, season - spring, animal - dog, holiday - Christmas!
Those are probably the most important things about me (as well as some random facts thrown in), you'll probably learn more as you go along and as I get to know my followers. (well, other than the ones I know in real life. ;)

Cats Playing Patty-cake, what they were saying...

I thought this video was SO funny! My cat Felicity will sort of do this with me. But she doesn't look very happy when she does. lol!

Before too long I want to put some pics up of my pets. They are like my children! ;)

Pet Peeve

Have you ever been flipping through a book and found a page that's corner has been turned down? Either intentionally or accidentally, this annoys me to no end. Especially when it's in my Bible. It makes me cringe every time I find a messed up corner. It reminds me of a funny little saying I read somewhere - 'You break my book's spine and I'll break yours!' lol! I guess I'm a little paranoid about my books. I suppose I'm a bit like Elinor from Inkheart in that respect.

A Good Book, Hot Tea, and a Blanket = Bliss

"You can't get a cup of tea big enough or a book long enough to suit me." - C.S. Lewis

This quote is so true, just add in a fuzzy blanket on cold days and it's perfect. I love to curl up with a cup of tea (or coffee or hot chocolate) and a good book (or craft project :) But sadly I always get to the bottom of the cup and I always reach the end of the story. With really good books I always find myself reading really fast to find out what happens but almost regretting getting to the end so soon because it doesn't last as long that way. Then I just want to read it again, and again, and again!

My Projects

For Christmas this year I am making several friends scarves. I'm knitting 2 or 3 and crocheting one so far. But I'm beginning to think this was a crazy idea because I doubt I'll be able to get them all done in time. It's the thought that counts though, right? And besides, I'll probably start knitting up a storm after all my finals are over. I'll try to post some pics of my completed projects before too long. If any of you experienced knitters stop by  you will get a laugh out of my first scarf. It is quite funny looking. But my second one turned out pretty good if I do say so myself. I want to make a matching collar for my Golden Retriever but I haven't quite figured out how to do it yet. I understand the concept but getting it to work is easier said than done. We'll see! :)

Finals (ugh) and Fun! =)

Starting this Tuesday I will have a final every day. I'm so NOT looking forward to them! I'm pretty sure that by Monday night I'm going to be majorly stressing out. But, for now I'm having a good time goofing off with one of my best friends. So far I think we've both had enough caffeine to keep an army awake for a few days. Okay, we haven't had that much...yet. lol! :) I think we are both fading at this point though, 5 hours of sleep will do that to you, ya know? Probably better go drink some mountain dew. ;)

Welcome!

Welcome to my blog! I'm new at this so have patience please. Also, be forewarned, I'm a college student so I may not always post very regularly. But if you stick around you might read something interesting... or you might not, never know. :)
